Yey its weekend!
Somehow, weekends in Makati remind me of the markets. I don’t know, I just find the sight beautiful, I feel like a child in a fair. Lol!
I also love that there are so many yummy treats. I just can’t seem to decide
what to buy whenever I go to either Salcedo or Legaspi. And because of these 2 that going to work on weekends have become bearable, exciting even (yeah right! Haha!)
But no. I will not be working this weekend
But I might go here just the same
oh how I loved how they sell the corn dogs
Last week was busy and it spilled over until the weekend. So there we were at the Salcedo Market buying lunch-to-go. I didn’t feel like going for the traditional (which was more than often). After going around all the food stalls twice, I finally decided on My Big Fat Greek Kouzina. They were selling Souvlaki, Moussaka and on display was the salad plate.
The Salad Plate was Php 150. It was just pita bread, some hummus, babaganush and tabouleh.
(Okay, please don’t ask me to explain each one. I just know that hummus is from chick peas and babaganush is from eggplant. Both are usually served as a dip. On the other hand, tabouleh is from tomatoes )
Looks could be deceiving! I thought I was ordering a light meal. After all, the pita was small, just bigger than a McDonald’s breakfast muffin. But no! Eating their salad plate was very heavy.
Further research (read here) also informed me that a one cup of hummus has 435 calories; baba ganush has 363 calories; both are good sources of fiber and protein, have no cholesterol, and consists of healthy unsaturated fats, including omega-3 fatty acids from olive oil and sesame seeds. Hmmm. I don’t know if that was good or bad. Hehehe
Aside from the stalls in Salcedo and Legaspi markets, My Big Fat Greek Kouzina can also be found at 188 Aguirre Ave, BF Homes ParaƱaque (09178339271), though according to their Facebook page, they only accept catering and take outs as of the moment. Oh well, we can always catch them in the Makati markets.
