In the basement of ukay and telco haven called MCS in Makati, there lies an old Chinese restaurant that Makati people all seem to know - Emer's
One rainy work night, we found ourselves here and what better order than their famous cua pao. I actually can't remember a time when I order something else. For me, Emer equals cua pao and their famous lomi, split into 2. The lomi you can share with a friend, but it is imperative that you order a cua pao (or two).
Their cua pao is my standard whenever I try other Chinese places. It has the right combination of pickles (which I love) and saucy meat.
This time though, it was not lomi for us for I have been craving for hot and sour soup over the weekend. So this was the perfect time to order it. Their hot ad sour soup could have softer soy though. As it is, it was more like tofu. Nevertheless, it tasted great!
We also ordered their chop suey. The serving though was small considering its price.
Light dinner on a rainy day :)
P.S, I found out that Emer's is actually a woman given all the banners at that time shouting "Happy Birthday, Ma'am Emer". The waiter also kindly pointed out the celebrant when we were there. :)
